FC Dallas: Every Save Makes A Difference Benefitting Liga HEB

Oct 30, 2018

By: Claudia Castillo

Throughout the 2018 season, MLS Works and Univision made charitable contributions to a Dallas-area school or charity thanks to the Every Save Makes a Difference Program. Each save recorded by FC Dallas during a Univision/UniMás televised match benefitted a local Dallas non-profit.

Every save recorded on Saturday’s match will result in a donation of $500 worth of soccer equipment to Liga HEB in Dallas. Liga HEB is an Intramural Soccer program providing access to the sport for young men who would otherwise be disengaged from their school and their peers. The league currently consists of seven teams from four junior high schools, with over 140 students participating in the 2018 season. An ongoing initiative of 6 Stones and the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District, the league has contributed to a rise in participation and success for local students since 2010.

Throughout the season, over $8,000 in donations were made to Dallas-area schools and charities. The FC Dallas Foundation selected the following beneficiaries for the 2018 season: Dowell FC, Marcus Elementary School, Gray Elementary School, Burleson FC, Lakeside Middle School and Rusk Middle School.

Since 2015, Every Save Makes A Difference has donated over $250,000 worth of equipment and has impacted over 120 different organizations.
