Univision Delivers More Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than ABC, CBS and NBC on Sunday Night

“Rubí” Propels Univision To Double-Digit Victories Over ABC, CBS and NBC During Weeknight 10 P.M. Hour For Second Straight Week With 18 to 34 Viewers

Univision Finishes Ahead of CBS and NBC During Primetime For Entire Week Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of January 27, 2020 to February 2, 2020

  • For the entire week, Univision finished as the third most-watched broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering CBS, NBC and The CW with 263,000 Adults 18-34 as well as the fifth largest broadcast network, ahead of The CW with 612,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision delivered year-over-year primetime audience growth (+7%) while ABC (-27%), CBS (-90%), NBC (-24%), The CW (-36%) and Telemundo (-1%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night last week for the sixth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
  • For the tenth consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+23% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+22% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience from the comparable week in 2019 among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+6% to 675,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 290,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in weeknight primetime for the tenth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+34% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+18% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+15% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “Ringo” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 655,000 Adults 18-49 and 314,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network, out-delivering NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34. The series also drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+20% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+20%) and Adults 18-34 (+27%) than the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlón Estados Unidos.”
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 724,000 Adults 18-49 and 296,000 Adults 18-34, marking the highest-rated weekly performance in its current second season with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The Turkish series drove Univision to a third-place finish on broadcast television in the 9 p.m. hour, ahead of CBS, FOX and The CW for the second consecutive week. “Amor Eterno” also outperformed Telemundo’s “La Doña II” by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+72% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+43% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+29% adv.).
    • At 10 p.m., “Rubí” delivered 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 646,000 Adults 18-49 and 261,000 Adults 18-34, making Univision a top-rated broadcast network with double-digit audience advantages over ABC (+22% adv.), CBS (+21% adv.) and NBC (+21% adv.) in the Monday through Friday 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34.
  • On every single weeknight last week, Univision’s “Ringo,” “Amor Eterno” and “Rubí” ranked within the top 10 programs on broadcast television, delivering more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “A Million Little Things,” “American Housewife,” “Black-ish,” “Bless This Mess,” “Emergence,” “Fresh Off The Boat,” “Mixed-ish,” “Schooled,” “Single Parents,” “The Conners,” “The Goldbergs” and “The Jump;” CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” “Carol’s Second Act,” “Evil,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Mom” and “Unicorn;” NBC’s “Lincoln Rhyme” and “Manifest;” FOX’s “Deputy,” “Outmatched” and “Prodigal Son” as well as The CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Arrow: Hitting Bullseye,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale” and “Supernatural.”
  • Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s weeknight series “Ringo” (655,000), “Amor Eterno” (724,000) and “Rubí” (646,000) outperformed first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Emergence,” CBS’ “Evil,” NBC’s “Lincoln Rhyme” and The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “All American,” “Arrow,” “Arrow: Hitting Bullseye,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale” and “Supernatural.”
  • With live coverage of “Sábado Futbolero,” Univision outperformed CBS by double-digits on Saturday night among Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+89% adv.). Preceded by Pachuca vs. Tigres which drew in 932,000 Total Viewers 2+, 458,000 Adults 18-49 and 177,000 Adults 18-34, America vs. FC Juarez retained and increased its overall lead-in audience by +19% with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+ and doubled the network’s audience levels in the 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year, making it the third and fourth most-watched program om all of broadcast television among Adults 18-34 (196,000) and Adults 18-49 (564,000), respectively. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+43% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+51% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+51% adv.).
  • On Super Bowl Sunday, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
    • “Aquí y Ahora” delivered year-over-year audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+8% to 398,000) and Adults 18-34 (+46% to 194,000). The primetime news magazine also out-delivered the first hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlón Estados Unidos” by +35% among Total Viewers 2+, +42% among Adults 18-49 and +76% among Adults 18-34.
    • “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 495,000 Adults 18-49 and 234,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 2 broadcast network during the Sunday 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW with the key Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The reality dance competition series attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+33% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+56% adv.) than Telemundo’s “La Voz II” on this night.
    • “Crónicas” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+11% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+20% to 451,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 202,000) and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network with double-digit audience advantages over ABC, CBS and NBC in the Sunday 10 p.m. hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
