Univision Local Stations to Ring in New Year Generating Strong Ratings Results During 2019-20 Broadcast Season

Univision Los Angeles Heads into 2020 No. 1 in Primetime and Total Day, Outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX Among Key Adult 18-49 Viewers

Local Stations Currently Delivering No. 1 or No. 2 Newscast Regardless of Language in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston and Dallas, Among Others

MIAMI – December 20, 2019 – In a year highlighted by Univision’s return to its core strengths in Hispanic media and strategic reinvestment in its local properties, Univision stations in several key markets are slated to end 2019 on a high note. In fact, stations in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Dallas, and Houston, among others, are currently out-delivering English and Spanish-language competition across important dayparts and newscasts.

KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles is currently the No. 1 broadcast station among Adults 18-49 in total day and primetime delivery during the 2019-2020 broadcast season, outperforming English-language competitors ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW. KMEX has also delivered more Adults 18-34 and Adults 25-54 in total day than ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW. Station news is delivering the No. 1 early and late local news among all key demos – Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. Meanwhile, KMEX’s midday newscast is pacing second ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the key Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 demos.

WXTV Univision 41 in New York’s early and late newscasts are delivering more Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 than CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW. Meanwhile, among Adults 25-54, WXTV is collecting more viewers in the demo than CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW. In midday, WXTV’s is second in the market, outperforming CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34.

KXLN Univision 45 in Houston continues to out-deliver ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW, and is currently ranked No. 2 in total day and primetime among Adults 18-34. KXLN’s early and late news are the #1 newscasts in both Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, while also maintaining the top spot in early news among Adults 18-34. Additionally, the station’s midday newscast is the No. 1 newscast in the market among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 and out-performs ABC, CBS and FOX among Adults 25-54.

KUVN Univision 23 Dallas will begin 2020 with the No. 1 rated midday, early and late newscast among Adults 18-34. KUVN is delivering the No. 1 early newscast in the market among Adults 18-49, while sitting second in the demo during midday and late news. Among key Adults 25-54, KUVN is delivering more viewers in early and late news than ABC, CBS and NBC.

KTVW Univision 33 Arizona continues to be the leader in Phoenix as the station has delivered the No. 1 ranking across early, late and midday among key demos, Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. Overall, KTVW is ranked No. 2 in total day among the key Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 demos.

WLTV Univision 23 Miami’s early and late news are currently ranked second among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49, and Adults 25-54.  Additionally, the station’s midday newscast is the No. 2 newscast for Miamians among Adults 25-54, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.

KDTV Univision 14 Bay Area’s early newscast is tops in the market among Adults 18-49 demo, while also positioning the station ahead ABC, NBC and CBS among Adults 18-34 and Adults 25-54. KDTV’s late newscast is generating more Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 viewers than ABC, CBS and NBC.

KUVS Univision 19 Sacramento is once again No. 1 with its midday newscast among the Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 demos. Its strength in midday carries into early news, where KUVS is besting ABC, CBS and FOX during the time period in both demos.
