WEEKLY UPDATE ON “MIRA QUIEN BAILA ALL STARS,” UNIVISION’S POPULAR DANCE COMPETITION

WHAT’S NEW:
The night will begin with a men vs women face-off led by “Amor Eterno’s” fan-favorite villain Emir, played by Turkish actor Kaan Urgancioglu, and beloved Univision personality, “Rubí” co-star and Premio Lo Nuestro 2020 co-host Alejandra Espinoza.
The contestants representing Espinoza’s team in this dance-off, Sofía Castro, Kimberly Dos Ramos and Kiara Liz, will take the floor to the rhythm of David Guetta’s “Hey Mama.” Emir’s team will be represented by Adrián Lastra, “Despierta América’s” Chef Yisus and actor and former MQB finalist Pedro Moreno. The three men will heat up the stage with a performance of the Ginuwine song “Pony”, inspired by the movie “Magic Mike.”
The musical performances of the night include a medley by superstar Prince Royce, urban sensation Lunay and a special opening number by actor and singer Omar Chaparro from his tribute album to Pedro Infante.
ON LAST SUNDAY’S SHOW:
- Last week, the Vegas themed show opened with the highly-anticipated return of Toni Costa and Amara La Negra to the MQB dancefloor.
- World music sensation and PLN nominee Pedro Capó performed a medley featuring his hit song “Calma” and his latest tune “Buena Suerte.”
- In the first round of performances:
- Unafraid of taking risks, and to the rhythm of “Tequila” by Xavier Cugat, Sofía Castro took the dance floor to do a mambo.
- Adrián Lastra had a memorable tropical performance doing a salsa number of Marc Anthony’s “Parecen Viernes.”
- Proving to be unstoppable after getting injured last week, Kimberly Dos Ramos hit the stage swing-style with “Viva Las Vegas” by Elvis Presley.
- Kiara Liz, who was at risk of leaving the competition, did a Cha Cha version of Pitbull and Kesha’s “Timber.”
- A fox-trot version of Dean’s Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” was performed by Adriel Favela.
- After the audience’s vote was revealed, Favela left the competition.
- The judges surprised the four remaining contestants by announcing that they were all semifinalists, but their future would be decided by the audience’s vote.
“Mira Quién Baila All Stars” is hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado and Javier Poza, and Amara la Negra is the backstage reporter. Former Miss Universe and winner of MQB’s fifth season Dayanara Torres, creative director and professional dancer Casper Smart, and Mexican actress, professional dancer and singer Bianca Marroquín are this season’s judges. The beloved dancer and star choreographer Toni Costa is the show’s first ever contestant mentor.
