Starting with the round of 16 on Tuesday, February 18, all matches will be broadcasted live across UniMás, Galavisión and the TUDN network. The compelling matches in the round of 16 include:
- Atlético Madrid vs. Liverpool — Liverpool returns to Estadio Metropolitano, where they were crowned UCL champions last season, to face off against Atlético Madrid. Both giants come to this match in need of a victory. For The Reds, a triumph would keep their momentum and hope for a treble alive, while for Los Colchoneros it could serve as a turning point following an uneven season highlighted by its poor play in its domestic competitions.
- Real Madrid vs. Manchester City— Real Madrid started this season with the left foot and suffered some startling defeats, but now seems like manager Zinadine Zidane has been able to right the ship and turn things around for Los Blancos. Currently atop their league, the Spanish side will host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in their first leg match of the round of 16.
SSC Napoli vs. Barcelona — Since their last UCL appearance in December, Barcelona has lost two of their most prolific players in Luis Suárez and Ousmane Dembélé, and changed managers, raising doubts that the club has the firepower to compete for this year’s title. However, behind superstar Lionel Messi, Los Blaugrana will set out to prove that it still has what it takes to be a top contender versus a Napoli that enters the contest on a six-match unbeaten streak in UCL play.
