Univision’s “Premios Juventud” Returns Reimagined with More Categories, More Nominees and More Emerging Artists than Ever
Anuel AA and Bad Bunny Were the Top Winners with Three Awards Each, Followed by Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, Karol G and Maluma Each Took Two Home

Set to Inspire, Motivate and Lead, Maluma and Jesse & Joy Were the First ever Artists in PJ History to Receive the “Agent of Change” Award for their Positive Impact on the Community
MIAMI – JULY 18, 2019 – Summer’s hottest night, Univision’s “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards) just aired a four-hour live celebration of music and current trends in pop culture, digital media, fashion, TV and social media on the most bilingual show in its history. The 16th edition of “Premios Juventud” featured a record number of today’s most popular and emerging artists performing for the first time on this stage.
Hosted by Alejandra Espinoza, Lali and CNCO, the award show received over 1.5 million audience votes to decide tonight’s winners among 160 nominees in 24 brand new categories. The biggest winners of the night were Anuel AA and Bad Bunny, who took home three awards each, followed by Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, Karol G and Maluma with two apiece.
On a mission to inspire, motivate and lead change, “Premios Juventud” awarded “Agent of Change” recognitions for the first time to musical artists who are actively involved in the community and support organizations that bring hope and provide better opportunities to future generations. Maluma and Jesse & Joy were the first artists to receive this recognition for empowering young people to achieve their dreams and for their work protecting the environment and defending animal rights, respectively. Two young Latinos, Alondra Toledo and Carlos Osuna, were also honored with the prestigious trophy for their leadership and positive contributions to the community.
“This year’s ‘Premios Juventud’ featured the very best in Latin music and pop culture showcasing performances from global superstars, while providing a platform for young emerging artists,” said Ignacio Meyer, senior vice president for Entertainment and Music at Univision. “The show aims to entertain and empower new generations and through the ‘Agent of Change’ award, motivate them to leave their mark in the world and achieve positive change in society.”
“Premios Juventud” 2019 featured exclusive collaborations, worldwide premieres, exhilarating remixes and musical debuts. The live award show kicked off with the “PJ Takeover,” hosted by Borja Voces, Clarissa Molina, Jomari Goyso. Performances included:

Tras un épico acto inicial con Karol G, seguido por Mau y Ricky, Sebastián Yatra y Camilo, y luego Sech, Myke Towers, Guaynaa, Rauw Alejandro, Lunay y Daddy Yankee, empezó una noche en la que artistas nuevos y populares se juntaron para unir a diversas generaciones

MIAMI –18 DE JULIO DE 2019– La noche más esperada del verano “Premios Juventud” de Univision trasmitió cuatro horas en vivo de celebración de la música, tendencias actuales de la cultura popular, medios digitales, moda, televisión y redes sociales en el show más bilingüe de su historia. En su 16a edición, “Premios Juventud” presentó un número récord de los más populares y prometedores artistas de la actualidad, quienes se presentaron por primera vez en el escenario.
Conducido por Alejandra Espinoza, Lali y CNCO, el programa de premiación recibió 1.5 millones de votos del público para escoger a los ganadores de la noche entre 160 nominados en 24 categorías totalmente nuevas. Los máximos ganadores fueron Anuel AA y Bad Bunny, quienes se llevaron tres premios cada uno, seguidos por Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, Karol G y Maluma con dos galardones cada uno.
Con la misión de inspirar, motivar y liderar el cambio, “Premios Juventud” entregó por primera vez el reconocimiento “Agentes de Cambio” a artistas que participan activamente en la comunidad y apoyan a entidades que dan esperanza y ofrecen mejores oportunidades a las futuras generaciones. Maluma y Jesse & Joy son los primeros artistas que reciben el galardón, por empoderar a jóvenes para que alcancen sus sueños y por su labor de protección del medio ambiente y defensa de los derechos de los animales, respectivamente. También se homenajeó con el prestigioso trofeo a Alondra Toledo y Carlos Osuna, dos jóvenes latinos, por su liderazgo y aportes positivos a la comunidad.
“‘Premios Juventud’ este año incluyó lo mejor de la música latina y cultura popular con presentaciones por superestrellas internacionales y, a la vez, ofreció una plataforma a prometedores jóvenes artistas”, dijo Ignacio Meyer, vicepresidente principal de Entretenimiento y Música en Univision. “El propósito del show es entretener y empoderar a nuevas generaciones, y con el premio ‘Agente de Cambio’, motivarlas a dejar huella en el mundo y lograr cambios positivos en la sociedad”.
