Univision Announces Official Sponsors For 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup – The Summer’s Premier Soccer Event

MIAMI – JUNE 14, 2019 – Univision Deportes, the undisputed Home of Soccer in the U.S., today announced the official roster of sponsors for its coverage of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup (“Copa Oro 2019”). More than 20 brands from across categories have signed on to be part of Univision Deportes’ (UD) exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the only international competition this summer featuring the U.S. and Mexican men’s national teams. UD will telecast all 31 matches live in primetime across three networks: Univision, UniMás and Univision Deportes Network (UDN). Additionally, matches will be available on the Univision Deportes app and on UnivisionDeportes.com, with comprehensive coverage provided across the company’s linear and digital portfolio from June 15 through July 7, 2019.

Sprint returns to Gold Cup with a 360-sponsorship across linear and digital. The telco is back for another year as exclusive presenting sponsor for Univision Deportes’ Concacaf Gold Cup halftime coverage, and will have a featured presence in Univision Deportes’ two most iconic studio programs: “Contacto Deportivo” and “Republica Deportiva.” Sprint will also sponsor the UD Gold Cup digital content hub on UnivisionDeportes.com, and be represented in UD’s Gold Cup livestream and live highlights on the site.

The 2019 Gold Cup also welcomes several first-time supporters of the event including Valvoline, Uber Eats, Jeep brand and AT&T. These brands join a long-list of returning sponsors for the biennial international championship crowning the best in a field of 16 teams from North America, Central American and the Caribbean.

AT&T, Modelo Especial, Victoria Beer, Corona, Mazda, State Farm, Toyota, Bud Light, Walmart and Wells Fargo will activate around the tournament as part of Univision’s partnership with Twitter. The Twitter platform will feature select, real-time highlights from the broadcast targeted to the increasingly digitally-connected U.S. Hispanic audience during the most-buzzed about moments of each match.

Virtual advertising technology will again be seamlessly integrated into this year’s tournament. The innovative virtual executions will be created for Jeep brand, Modelo Especial and Verizon and delivered in-game to the millions of fanáticos tuning in live across the country.

Jeep brand will be featured as part of the live-game open alongside UDN talent and tournament footage, setting the stage for each Gold Cup match. UD Tech, Univision Deportes’ advance analytic platform, is sponsored by Nissan. Nissan branded graphics will be displayed on screen, measuring speed, distance and angles captured by the platform, bringing to life the top plays of the game. Wells Fargo will sponsor Univision Deportes’ live polling feature “Voz del Fanático” (Fans’ Voice), where fans are given control over the hottest takes and debated topics discussed during the game and on social media. Fans are also encouraged to vote for the player of the game via a dedicated landing page. Winners will become the featured athlete in a “Sponsored Moments” content hub executed in partnership with Twitter. Further in-game sponsorship elements include Allstate “Save of the Game,” Jeep brand’s “Starting Lineups,” Modelo Especial “Jugador Especial” (Player of the Game) and State Farm® “Pivotal Moment of the Match.”

On Facebook and YouTube, Univision Deportes will launch its local legends branded content series “Tierra de Gigantes” (Land of Giants) Sponsored by Nissan, the four-episode series will explore the origins of four top Mexican National Team players in Raúl Jiménez, Memo Ochoa, Rodolfo Pizarro and Hector Moreno. UD traveled to Mexico to capture the sights and sounds of their hometown, and share a glimpse into their development as athletes and as people through interviews with former coaches, family, and members of the community.

Featuring the top men’s national teams in North America, Central America and the Caribbean, Gold Cup is comprised of 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination knockout round, beginning with the quarterfinals, and concluding with the final on Sunday, June 7. Play gets underway on Univision and UDN this Saturday, June 15 with Canada vs. Martinique at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Mexico vs. Cuba at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
