Global legend Roberto Carlos will receive the Premio a la Excelencia award
Pepe Aguilar and Zion y Lennox will take part in grand moments that honor Latin music traditions and celebrate new genres

MIAMI – FEBRUARY 13, 2019— In just eight days, Premio lo Nuestro kicks off a New Era of the longest-running Latin music award show in the country. On Thursday, February 21, starting at 7 p.m. ET on Univision, Hispanic America will celebrate the power of Latin music like never before with eight worldwide debuts, exclusive remixes, video premieres, and more female artists sharing the stage. For the first time ever, the first hour of the night, “Noche de Estrellas,” will feature multiple musical performances, live from AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.
J Balvin,Ozuna, Anitta, Maná, Juanes, Nacho, Yandel and Joss Favela will join previously announced Premio Lo Nuestro nominees who will perform during the telecast.
Iconic singer/songwriter Roberto Carlos, who has helped establish Latin music around the world for more than half a century and sold more than 120 million albums, will be honored with Premio a la Excelencia.
Pepe Aguilar will surprise his fans with a new version of one of his classic hits, while Zion y Lenox will celebrate the legacy of urban music in a show-stopping moment of the night.

J Balvin, Colombian reggaetón/Latin superstar, who scored 12 nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro, including Urban Song of the Year, and Premio Lo Nuestro Artist of the Year, will perform his latest hit, “Reggaetón.”
Ozuna, Puerto Rican reggaetón/Latin trap artist and actor, will perform a medley of his latest hits “Baila, Baila, Baila,” “Cama Vacía” and “Taki Taki.” He has 10 nominations this year, including Pop/Rock song of the Year, Urban Male Artist of the Year and Crossover Collaboration of the Year.
Anitta, Latin electropop singer and the most streamed Brazilian artist on Spotify, has four nods, including Urban Female Artist of the Year and New Artist. She will bring her fans a surprising interpretation of her new hit in her second appearance on the Premio Lo Nuestro stage.
Yandel, Puerto Rican reggaetón singer/producer, is nominated in four categories, including Pop/Rock Song of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year and will collaborate in a special musical moment of the night.
Juanes, the Colombian cumbia/Latin pop/rock singer/songwriter nominated as Pop/Rock Artist of the Year, returns to Premio Lo Nuestro with a Spanish-language TV world premiere of his new single “La Plata.”
Mexican rock band Maná, nominated for “Replay” Song of the Year, will make an exclusive announcement for their fans and present a special number.
Joss Favela, Mexican singer/songwriter, is nominated as Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, and will join the homage to Roberto Carlos on stage, singing together for the first time on TV.
Nacho, Venezuelan tropical/urban music artist, is nominated for Pop/Rock Song of the Year and will perform his single, “Déjalo” during the “Noche de Estrellas” pre-show.
Pepe Aguilar, Mexican ranchera singer, will re-imagine for his fans one of his classic hits during a unique musical moment in the show.
Zion y Lennox, reggaetón duo from Puerto Rico will celebrate the legacy of urban music in a musical moment that will have everyone talking.
The stellar night starts with “Noche de Estrellas” pre-show hosted by the arrivals carpet team of Chiquinquirá Delgado, Raúl de Molina and Borja Voces joined this year by celebrity host Gabriel Soto. New this year, the pre-show will feature artists with a strong social media presence who represent Premio Lo Nuestro’s new era. Aitana, Ana Guerra and Greeicy Rendón will take the carpet to perform a remix of “Lo Malo,” while first-time nominees, Nio García, Casper Mágico and Darell, perform the urban music hit “Te Boté,” nominated for “Remix of the Year.” As previously announced, Lele Pons and Fuego will do a global release of their single “Bloque.”
Premio Lo Nuestro recognizes the best in Latin music and showcases star-studded performances, worldwide premieres and current hits that will be toping the charts this year. This 31st edition features newer music and include seven new categories representing today’s ever-expanding musical tastes: Sierreño Artist of the Year, ‘Replay’ Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Crossover Collaboration of the Year, Remix of the Year, Social Artist of the Year, and Tour of the Year.
The February 21 live event from Miami kicks off the annual Latin music awards season. Univision’s production team has once again partnered with the award winning and critically acclaimed producer, musician and composer, Sergio George, as musical director for the telecast.
More than 1.8 million fans voted online from January 8th through January 21 for their favorites among 91 artists in 28 award categories. Nominations were based on the top 1,000 current and recurrent songs in Spanish and English with the most plays on Univision’s Uforia radio stations from January 1st to October 31st of 2018.

MIAMI –13 DE FEBRERO DE 2019 — En tan solo ocho días, Premio Lo Nuestro dará inicio a una nueva era en la historia de la ceremonia de premiación a la música latina de mayor trayectoria en el país. El jueves, 21 de febrero, desde las 7 p.m./Este, por Univision, los hispanos en Estados Unidos celebrarán el poder de la música latina como nunca antes, con ocho debuts internacionales, exclusivos remixes, estrenos de video y más artistas mujeres en el escenario. Por primera vez en la historia, la primera hora del programa de antesala “Noche de Estrellas” contará con múltiples presentaciones musicales, en vivo desde el AmericanAirlines Arena de Miami.
J Balvin, Ozuna, Anitta, Maná, Juanes, Nacho, Yandel y Joss Favela se sumarán a otros nominados a “Premio Lo Nuestro” que ya habían anunciado previamente que actuarán durante la trasmisión televisiva.
El ídolo y cantautor Roberto Carlos, que ayudó a difundir la música latina en todo el mundo por más de medio siglo y vendió más de 120 millones de álbumes, recibirá el Premio a la Excelencia.
Pepe Aguilar sorprenderá a sus fans con una nueva versión de uno de sus temas clásicos y Zion y Lennox celebrarán el legado de la música urbana en un memorable número musical.

J Balvin, la súper estrella colombiana del reguetón, con 12 nominaciones a Premio Lo Nuestro, que incluyen Artista del Año y Canción del Año – Urbano, cantará su más reciente éxito ‘Reggaetón’.
Ozuna, actor y artista puertorriqueño de reguetón y trap latino, cantará un medley de sus éxitos más recientes: ‘Baila, Baila, Baila’, ‘Cama Vacía’ y ‘Taki Taki’. Tiene 10 nominaciones que incluyen Canción del Año – Pop/Rock, Artista Masculino del Año – Urbano y Colaboración ‘Crossover’ del Año.
Anitta, la cantante de música electropop latina, y la artista brasileña más popular en Spotify, tiene cuatro nominaciones, entre ellas Cantante Femenina del Año – Urbano, y Revelación del Año. Les regalará a sus fans una sorprendente interpretación de su nuevo éxito en lo que será su segunda presentación en el escenario de Premio Lo Nuestro.
Yandel, cantante y productor puertorriqueño de reguetón, tiene cuatro nominaciones, entre ellas, Canción del Año – Pop/Rock y Canción del Año – Tropical, y colaborará en el número musical más memorable del programa.
Juanes, el cantautor colombiano de cumbia y pop/rock latino, nominado a Artista del Año – Pop/Rock, regresa a Premio Lo Nuestro con el estreno mundial en la televisión en español de su nuevo sencillo ‘La Plata’.
Maná, la banda mexicana de rock, nominada a Canción Replay del Año, hará un anuncio exclusivo para sus fans y presentará un número especial.
Joss Favela, el cantautor mexicano, está nominado a Artista del Año – Regional Mexicano, y participará en el homenaje a Roberto Carlos en el escenario, cantando con él por primera vez en la televisión.
Nacho, artista venezolano de música tropical/urbana, está nominado a Canción del Año – Pop/Rock y cantará su sencillo ‘Déjalo’ durante el programa de antesala “Noche de Estrellas”.
Pepe Aguilar, mexicano de rancheras, interpretará innovadoramente uno de sus éxitos clásicos en un número musical muy especial para sus fans que lo estarán viendo durante el programa.
Zion y Lenox, dúo de reguetón de Puerto Rico, celebrarán el legado de la música urbana con un número musical que dará que hablar.
La velada estelar empezará con el programa de antesala “Noche de Estrellas” presentado por el equipo de la alfombra conformado por Chiquinquirá Delgado, Raúl de Molina y Borja Voces, al que se sumará el célebre Gabriel Soto. Lo nuevo este año es que el programa de antesala contará con la participación de cantantes con una fuerte presencia en redes sociales que representan la nueva era de Premio Lo Nuestro. Premio Lo Nuestro otorga reconocimiento a lo mejor de la música latina y presenta actuaciones estelares, estrenos mundiales y los éxitos del momento que encabezarán las listas de popularidad este año. Esta 31era ceremonia tendrá más estrenos musicales e incluirá siete nuevas categorías que representan los nuevos gustos musicales de hoy: Artista Sierreño del Año, Canción ‘Replay’ del Año, Sencillo del Año, Colaboración Crossover del Año, Remix del Año, Artista Social del Año y Gira del Año.
El evento en vivo tendrá lugar el 21 de febrero desde Miami, e inicia la temporada de premiación a la música latina. El equipo de producción de Univision se ha asociado nuevamente con Sergio George, el galardonado productor, músico y compositor aclamado por la crítica, quien será el director musical de la trasmisión televisiva.
Del 8 al 21 de enero, más de 1.8 millones de fans votaron en línea por sus favoritos entre 91 artistas en 28 categorías de premiación. Las nominaciones se basaron en las 1,000 canciones en español e inglés más populares y más solicitadas en las estaciones de Uforia radio de Univision desde el 1ero de enero al 31 de octubre de 2018.
