SAN JOSÉ, CA, NOVEMBER 14, 2018 – Univision, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, today announced that Estefany Mendez, Joe Perry and Jeremiah Ysip from Noticias Univision 14 Área de la Bahía won the San Francisco Press Club 2018 Greater Bay Area Journalism Award, honoring outstanding work of Bay Area print, TV, radio and digital media journalists, graphic designers and photographers, as well as the work of documentary filmmakers.
Univision Bay Area’s special piece “Son de Lucha,” a feature story about the legendary band “La Santa Cecilia” and their fight for immigrant rights and support for Dreamers, will be honored during the 2018 Greater Bay Area Journalism Award ceremony on Thursday, November 15 in Burlingame, California.
