Univision San Antonio “The Beat 98.5” Gets Its Own Big Three as Top Hip Hop Show “The Breakfast Club” Joins Lineup

The New York-based morning program will air in San Antonio from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. beginning today

SAN ANTONIO, TX – AUGUST 23, 2018 – For years San Antonio basketball fans celebrated the Big Three. Now the Alamo City’s radio audience will have its own Big Three. Hip Hop giants Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy are coming to Univision San Antonio’s “The Beat 98.5” announced today Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. The trio’s legendary show, “The Breakfast Club,” will air Monday through Friday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. starting today.

“The Breakfast Club” originates from iHeartMedia’s Power 105.1 in New York and airs on nearly 80 stations nationwide. Known as the “World’s Most Dangerous Morning Show,” the Premiere Networks-syndicated program covers pop culture in all its facets, with appearances by such current and future greats of the genre, such as Drake, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, as well as cultural figures from Jennifer Lopez to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hillary Clinton.

“Univision San Antonio’s ‘The Beat 98.5,’ has always been the city’s home for Hip Hop. The program’s addition to The Beat 98.5’s schedule gives the station a morning show with unparalleled stature and magnitude in the world of Hip Hop, and will add even more luster to the station’s already stellar lineup of talent,” said Chris Morris, vice president and general manager of Univision San Antonio.

The show, which has been named the most powerful in hip-hop culture for five years in a row, features recurring segments. Yee’s Rumor Report covers pop culture news. In Donkey of The Day, Charlamagne points out recent missteps by public figures. The People’s Choice Mix brings listeners 25 straight minutes of Envy’s award-winning music mixes. The hosts also have an active social media presence, with millions of followers across the full range of platforms.

Los gigantes del hip hop Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee y DJ Envy se presentarán en “The Beat 98.5” de Univision San Antonio, anunció hoy Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), la principal empresa de medios de comunicación al servicio de la comunidad hispana en Estados Unidos. El programa del legendario trío, “The Breakfast Club”, se trasmitirá de lunes a viernes por la mañana, de 5:30 a.m. a 10:00 a.m., a partir de hoy.

“The Breakfast Club” se originó en Power 105.1 de iHeartMedia en Nueva York y se trasmite en casi 80 estaciones en todo el país.
