The 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards Reached 8.0 Million Total Viewers 2+ and Positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network for the Entire Night

Univision Local Stations Ranked No. 1 in the Time-Period Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles and Miami

NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 17, 2017 – The Biggest Night in Latin Music gathered some of the hottest artists and DJs at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards that reached 8.0 million Total Viewers 2+, who tuned-in to all or part of the three-hour live broadcast on the Univision network. On a competitive Thursday night with original programming, the Latin GRAMMY® Awards telecast delivered an average audience of 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49 and 554,000 Adults 18-34 while also positioned Univision as the No. 4 broadcast network, out-delivering FOX and CW among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Additionally, the star-studded award show made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double the audience levels of its closest competitor among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

The 2017 Latin GRAMMY® Awards on Univision attracted more Hispanic viewers among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than the combined audience of the latest editions of the “Billboard Music Awards” and “Country Music Awards.”

ADDITIONAL NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS
The 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards on the Univision Network:

  • Delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire original lineups on FOX (“Gotham” and “The Orville”) and CW (“Supernatural” and “Arrow”) as well as the first-run episodes of ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” and CBS’ “Mom,” “Life in Pieces” and “S.W.A.T.”
  • Outperformed the entire original lineups on FOX (“Gotham” and “The Orville”) and CW (“Supernatural” and “Arrow”) as well as the first-run episodes of ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” and CBS’ “S.W.A.T.” among Adults 18-49.

  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, San Francisco, and Sacramento.

The Latin GRAMMY® Awards was the No. 1 program of the day in the following market:

  • Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Miami.

Coverage of the Latin GRAMMY® Awards outperformed ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates combined during the time-period in the following market:

  • Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Miami.

The Latin GRAMMY® Awards grew versus the 2016 Latin GRAMMY® Awards in the following markets:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Miami, Houston, Chicago, Phoenix, and Sacramento.
  • Adults 18-49 in Miami, Houston, Chicago, and Sacramento.
  • Adults 18-34 in New York, Miami, Chicago, Phoenix, and Sacramento.

Co-hosted by Mexican actor and singer Jaime Camil and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actress Roselyn Sanchez, the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards showcased Latin music’s brightest stars and included a stunning performance by 18-time Latin GRAMMY® and three-time GRAMMY® winner Alejandro Sanz, who received the 2017 Latin Recording Academy “Person of the Year” award. In a very touching moment, Sanz dedicated his award to DREAMers, who later joined him on stage to help him sing his hit, “Corazon Partido.”

Additional performances throughout the night included J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Flor De Toloache, Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade, Maluma, Residente, and Sofía Reyes; as well as guest performances by Steve Aoki, Alessia Cara, Logic, and French Montana.

Award presenters included Anavitória, Camilla Cabello, Sofía Carson, Erika Ender, Flo Rida, Leslie Grace, Juan Luis Guerra, Rudy Mancuso, Debi Nova, Marco de la O, Alexandre Pires, Lele Pons, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Olga Tañón and Wilmer Valderrama, as well as Latin GRAMMY® nominees for Best New Artist Martina “La Peligrosa” and Rosalía.

Preceding the Awards telecast, Univision Network presented its exclusive “Noche de Estrellas” (“Night of The Stars”) coverage on celebrity arrivals directly from the Latin GRAMMY® Awards red carpet that started at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central). “Noche de Estrellas” featured live interviews and commentary on the stars and their fashion to provide viewers an intimate glimpse at Latin music’s most glamorous event with their favorite celebrities via social media using #LatinGRAMMY.
