Among the Team Invites, Three MLS Teams from FC Dallas, LA Galaxy and Orlando City Soccer Will Compete in Kissimmee in December 2017
NEW YORK, NY – JULY 18, 2017 – UCI Live, Univision Communications Inc.’s (UCI) in-house experiential marketing unit, has invited the initial eight amateur youth soccer teams to compete in the inaugural Prospects CupSM that will be held from December 18-22, 2017 at the Omni ChampionsGate Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida. The teams that accepted their invite to compete include: Academy teams from Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs FC Dallas, LA Galaxy and Orlando City Soccer; U.S. Youth Soccer teams Pachuca Tuzos Academy (Phoenix) and Real Jersey FC (Medford, NJ); U.S. Development Academy’s Weston Soccer Club (Miami); Sockers FC (Chicago) and Global Premier Soccer (Boston).
Prospects CupSM is a global event that will bring 16 amateur youth soccer teams from around the world competing for the sport’s first youth soccer world championship. Inspired by the Little League World Series model, the tournament looks to crown the world’s best under-12 boys team.
“We are thrilled that the initial eight teams have accepted their invitations to join us in Kissimmee later this year to crown the inaugural Prospects Cup champion”, said Rick Alessandri, executive vice president, Univision Enterprise Development and UCI Live. “The eight U.S. teams will battle it out for the U.S. champion spot and the right to face the International bracket winner.”
All three MLS clubs have strong academy programs from U12 to U18 age groups. The home club team based just outside the inaugural host city, Kissimmee, the Orlando City Soccer Club is an American professional soccer club that competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have our team invited to the Prospects Cup, and in our hometown,” said academy director, Orlando City Soccer club’s David Longwell. “More than the invite and the chance to play in this global event, we are excited to support this movement initiated by Univision where young, future stars of soccer have the opportunity to play on a world stage and bring awareness to the growing sport of soccer.”
Both FC Dallas and LA Galaxy are American professional soccer franchises based in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas and the Los Angeles suburbs of Carson, California, respectively. The clubs compete as members of Major League Soccer, the top league in the United States and Canada.
As one of the several U.S. Youth soccer teams invited to participate, Pachuca Tuzos Academy is a highly-competitive boys club based in Phoenix, Arizona, and a member of the Arizona Youth Soccer Association (AYSA). This non-profit organization was created to give players from low income families the opportunity to play in high level tournaments, where players can be seen by college and University soccer coaches and have the opportunity to receive scholarships. Supported financially by the owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Ken Kendrick, Club Tuzos Soccer will be one of many teams and stories to watch this December.
“Tuzos continually demonstrates its ability to develop outstanding players, prepare them to compete on a national stage and instill the importance of a quality education,” said Arizona Diamondbacks’ owner, Ken Kendrick. “Without Tuzos, many of these players might not have the opportunities that the club provides – I am proud to support their efforts.”

OCHO SELECCIONES NACIONALES ESTÁN INVITADAS PARA PARTICIPAR EN EL PRIMER TORNEO JUVENIL DE FÚTBOL PROSPECTS CUPSM DE UNIVISION
Entre los equipos invitados, tres de MLS; FC Dallas, LA Galaxy y Orlando City Soccer, que competirán en Kissimmee en diciembre de 2017
NUEVA YORK, NY –18 DE JULIO DE 2017– UCI Live, la unidad interna de mercadeo con experiencias de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), ha invitado a los ocho primeros equipos juveniles de fútbol amateur para competir en la primera Prospects CupSM, que se realizará del 18 al 22 de diciembre de 2017 en el Omni ChampionsGate Sports Complex en Kissimmee, Florida. Entre los equipos que han aceptado la invitación están: equipos de las academias de los clubes FC Dallas, LA Galaxy y Orlando City Soccer, de Major League Soccer (MLS); los equipos Pachuca Tuzos Academy (Phoenix) y Real Jersey FC (Medford, NJ) de U.S. Youth Soccer; Weston Soccer Club (Miami) de U.S. Development Academy; Sockers FC (Chicago), y Global Premier Soccer (Boston). Posteriormente, se anunciarán los equipos internacionales que se sumarán a Prospects Cup.
Prospects CupSM es un evento internacional que congregará a 16 equipos juveniles de fútbol amateur de todo el planeta para que compitan en el primer campeonato mundial de fútbol juvenil. Inspirado en el modelo de Little League World Series, el torneo se propone destacar al mejor equipo de chicos menores de 12 años en el mundo.
“Nos entusiasma mucho que los ocho equipos iniciales hayan aceptado nuestra invitación para venir a Kissimmee más adelante este año, donde se coronará al primer campeón de Prospects Cup”, dijo Rick Alessandri, vicepresidente ejecutivo de Desarrollo Empresarial de Univision y UCI Live. “Los ocho equipos de Estados Unidos competirán por el campeonato de Estados Unidos y el derecho de enfrentarse al ganador del grupo internacional”.
Los tres clubes de MLS tienen sólidos programas académicos para chicos de los grupos sub-12 a sub-18. El Orlando City Soccer Club del equipo anfitrión, que está cerca de Kissimmee, la ciudad donde se realizará el primer torneo, es un club estadounidense profesional que compite como miembro de la liga de la región este de Major League Soccer.

FC Dallas y LA Galaxy son franquicias de equipos profesionales de fútbol en Estados Unidos, en Frisco, Texas, un suburbio de Dallas, y en Carson, California, un suburbio de Los Ángeles, respectivamente. Los clubes competirán como miembros de Major League Soccer, la principal liga en Estados Unidos y Canada.
Pachuca Tuzos Academy, uno de los equipos de U.S. Youth Soccer que ha sido invitados a participar, es un club muy competitivo para chicos en Phoenix, Arizona, y miembro de la Arizona Youth Soccer Association (AYSA). Esta entidad sin fines de lucro se creó para darles a los niños de familias con bajos ingresos la oportunidad de jugar en torneos de alto nivel, donde los pueden ver entrenadores de fútbol a nivel universitario y donde tienen la posibilidad de recibir becas. El Club Tuzos Soccer, que cuenta con el respaldo económico de Ken Kendrick, dueño de los Arizona Diamondbacks, será uno de los muchos equipos e historias que se podrán observar en diciembre.
“Tuzos demuestra continuamente su capacidad de cultivar jugadores sobresalientes, prepararlos para competir en el ámbito nacional e inculcar en ellos la importancia de una buena educación”, dijo Kendrick. “Sin Tuzos, muchos de estos jugadores quizá no tendrían las oportunidades que les ofrece el club. Para mí es un orgullo apoyar sus esfuerzos”.
