The Stars Align with Athletes and Musicians at the Fourth Annual “Premios Univision Deportes”

WHAT: Julián Gil and Ninel Conde return to host Univision Deportes’ annual night of sports stars, “Premios Univision Deportes,” recognizing the best performers on the pitch, in the ring and more, as well as athletes’ philanthropic contributions off the playing field.
This year, “Premios Univision Deportes” will bestow boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya the Lifetime Achievement Award, Javier “Chicharrito” Hernández will be recognized as “Mexican National Top Team Goal Scorer,” and the Humanitarian Award will go to Venezuelan baseball athletes Freddy Galvis, Rougned Odor, Jhoulys Chacín and Carlos González, whose charitable efforts helped the Venezuelan youth national team compete in the Little League World Series.
Singer-songwriter Natalia Jiménez, urban star Yandel, and popular music artist Becky G will light up the stage; Cirque du Soleil will wow the audience with its acrobatic prowess, and Mexican singer Carlos Rivera will dedicate a special performance to those affected by recent natural disasters.
Since 2014’s inaugural “Premios Univision Deportes,” the sports awards show has become the most-watched sports celebration by U.S. Hispanics for its recognition of star athletes as well as those who use sports as a vehicle for social change.

QUÉ: Julián Gil y Ninel Conde regresan como maestros de ceremonia de “Premios Univision Deportes”, que reconoce a los mejores deportistas, tanto en el terreno de juego como por sus contribuciones a la sociedad.
Este año, “Premios Univision Deportes” le entregará al legendario boxeador Óscar de la Hoya el “Reconocimiento a la Trayectoria Deportiva”. Javier “Chicharito” Hernández recibirá el “Reconocimiento al Goleador del TRI”, y el “Reconocimiento a Labor Humanitaria” se otorgará a los beisbolistas venezolanos Freddy Galvis, Rougned Odor, Jhoulys Chacín y Carlos González, cuyas labores benéficas ayudaron a la selección juvenil de Venezuela a competir en la Serie Mundial de las Ligas Menores.
La cantautora Natalia Jiménez, la estrella de música urbana Yandel, y la popular artista musical Becky G animarán el escenario; Cirque du Soleil asombrará a la audiencia con hazañas acrobáticas, y el cantante mexicano Carlos Rivera dedicará una presentación especial a los afectados por las recientes catástrofes naturales.
Desde su primera edición en el 2014, “Premios Univision Deportes”, se ha convertido en la celebración deportiva más vista por los hispanos en Estados Unidos debido al reconocimiento que brinda a estelares deportistas, además de aquellos que usan los deportes como medio para producir cambios sociales.
