Univision Delivered Its Highest-Rated Weekly Primetime Performance in the Current 2017/2018 Season this Past Week Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision Ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network during Primetime for the Fifth Consecutive Week Among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+

Last week, Univision delivered its highest-rated weekly primetime performance in the current 2017/2018 season with 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 851,000 Adults 18-49 and 394,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision has consistently increased its primetime audience in the last two consecutive weeks with double-digit week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+10%), Adults 18-49 (+19%) and Adults 18-34 (+22%).

Univision also delivered audience growth (+8%) during primetime from the comparable week in 2016 while ABC (-13%), CBS (-20%), NBC (-33%), FOX (-0.3%) and CW (-14%) all reported audience declines in the key 18 to 49 demographic.

For the fifth consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime, out-delivering its closest competitor by double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+65% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+69% adv.) as well as for the fourth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 (+85% adv.).

  • Across every weeknight hour last week, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking, surpassing its closest competitor by +65% in the 8pm hour, +96% in the 9pm hour and +8% in the 10pm hour among Adults 18-49.

Univision was also the No. 3 broadcast network for the entire week in primetime, ahead of ABC, CBS and CW among Adults 18-34; and finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network among both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34 and on four out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.

Univision’s 9pm dramedy “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” (My Husband Has a Family) achieved its highest-rated weekly audience levels this past week with 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 823,000 Adults 18-49 and 392,000 Adults 18-34. With strong week-to-week audience gains of +7%, “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” also delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Black-ish,” “The Mayor” and “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” CBS’ “9JKL,” “Life In Pieces” and “Superior Donuts;” NBC’s “Blindspot;” FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Exorcist,” “Gotham,” “The Gifted” and “The Orville;” as well as CW’s “Arrow,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” “Supernatural” and “Valor.”

On Thursday night, Univision kicked-off the Liga MX Apertura 2017 Final with live coverage of the first leg between Tigres UANL and Monterrey, which drew in 2.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49, 586,000 Adults 18-34, and made it the No. 3 broadcast network, ahead of ABC, FOX and CW for the entire night with both the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics.

Saturday night’s movie presentation of the 2013 Comedy Drama “No Se Aceptan Devoluciones’ (Instructions Not Included) attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 629,000 Adults 18-49, 277,000 Adults 18-34, and positioned Univision as the No. 2 broadcast network among 18 to 34 viewers with doubled the audience levels of FOX as well as strong audience advantages of +10% over ABC and +53% over NBC on this night.

With its live coverage of the second leg of the Liga MX Apertura 2017 Final in which Tigres UANL claimed the championship title with a 2-1 win over Monterrey, Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network on Sunday night, out-delivering CBS by +10% among Adults 18-49. The soccer match averaged 2.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49, 654,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with tripled the 18 to 49 audience levels of its closest competitor.
