Executive Produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin “La Banda” Will Search for the Ultimate Latino Super Group with the Help of Judges Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Sanz and Host Alejandra Espinoza
MIAMI, FL – AUGUST 12, 2015 – On Sunday, September 13th, “La Banda,” the music-based reality-competition developed by Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), Simon Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment and Haim Saban’s Saban Brands is set to premiere on the Univision Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT).
“La Banda” is executive produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin, who also serves as a judge alongside Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz, and is hosted by Alejandra Espinoza. Additional producers include: Kelly Belldegrun (SYCO Entertainment), Nigel Hall (SYCO Entertainment), Gert Verpeet (FremantleMedia Latin America), Treicy Benavides (FremantleMedia Latin America), Cisco Suárez (Univision Network) and Macarena Moreno (Univision Network).
With a new take on the singing competition show format, “La Banda” will search the U.S. and Puerto Rico to put together the ultimate Latino super group. Representing all Hispanic cultures, contestants will compete for their place in “La Banda” and for a coveted recording contract with Sony Music Latin, label home to the most prolific Latin music artists, and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Music, the recording label responsible for some of the world’s biggest selling artists, including One Direction. Ricky Martin will manage the winning band.
Producers hosted auditions nationwide in major cities including Los Angeles, Houston, New York, Chicago, Miami and in Puerto Rico, as well as via the show’s official online site, LaBandaOficial.com. Each week, contestants will be presented with challenges to showcase their individual and collective star power. Fans will have the ability to weigh in on the fate of contestants by voting via the show’s social channels.

Los concursantes, que representarán todas las culturas hispanas, competirán por un lugar en “La Banda” y un anhelado contrato con la disquera Sony Music Latin, que representa a los más prolíficos músicos latinos, y SYCO Music de Simon Cowell, la disquera responsable por algunos de los artistas de más venta en el mundo, incluido One Direction.
