Sets Framework for the Launch of a Two-Tier Streaming Service Upon Close of Televisa-Univision Transaction
Miami, FL – July 30, 2021 – Univision Holdings, Inc., the leading Spanish-language media and content company, today announced the addition of key leaders to its Streaming leadership team, following the recent announcement of a comprehensive global streaming service, which will feature both free ad-supported and premium subscription-based offerings, to launch in the U.S. and Latin America in 2022. The new service will encompass the largest offering of originally produced Spanish-language content globally, strategically positioning the Company as it continues its transformation and nears the close of the Televisa-Univision transaction expected later this year.

Univision today announced the following appointments:
- Augusto Rovegno is appointed Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and SVOD Programming. In this capacity, Rovegno will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring tentpole content for both AVOD and SVOD tiers of Univision’s recently announced global streaming service. He will also be responsible for developing original films, curating and programming for the SVOD tier. Rovegno, who previously served in various roles at Netflix leading the original film development as well as the licensing and co-production of Spanish-language films and TV series, will report to Rodrigo Mazon, EVP & GM, SVOD Streaming.
- Cameron Carr has been appointed Executive Vice President, Data and Insights, Streaming and Mariela Stescobich joins as Senior Vice President, Marketing, User Growth and Retention for AVOD. Carr joins from NerdWallet, where he served as VP, Data Science & Analytics. He brings extensive data science, analytics and business intelligence expertise from top companies including Facebook, PlayStation, Netflix and Google. Carr will oversee the Data Analytics functions for all Univision Streaming including AVOD and SVOD and all other digital platforms. Stescobich will be tasked with driving customer acquisition and retention for PrendeTV including the future global AVOD tier as well as other ad-supported digital tiers. Joining from Hulu and Fox, she will leverage her streaming and media expertise to grow Univision’s ad-supported digital customer base. Both Carr and Stescobich will report to Rafael Urbina, EVP and GM, AVOD Streaming.
- Daniel Sanders joins Univision as Senior Vice President, Engineering, Streaming. Sanders will oversee the development of streaming technology platforms and services. During his career in digital media he has designed, built and operated multiple high-scale media platforms and led innovative engineering teams, including for Sony’s Crackle, Verizon’s Uplynk, and ViacomCBS’s PlutoTV. He will report to Michael Cerda, Executive Vice President, Product & Engineering, Streaming.
The newly appointed executives will join Pierluigi Gazzolo’s leadership team in August.

Miami, FL –30 de julio de 2021– Univision Holdings, Inc., la principal empresa de contenido y medios en español en Estados Unidos, anunció hoy que importantes líderes se sumarán a su equipo de streaming, tras el anuncio reciente de un servicio integral de streaming a nivel internacional que incluirá una versión gratuita con publicidad y una premium con suscripción, que se lanzarán en Estados Unidos y América Latina en 2022. El nuevo servicio ofrecerá el más extenso contenido producido originalmente y en español del mundo, con lo que la Compañía se posicionará estratégicamente mientras su transformación continúa y se completa la transacción entre Televisa y Univision, que está prevista para este año.

Univision anunció hoy los siguientes nombramientos:

Como tal, Rovegno se encargará de obtener y adquirir contenido de primera para el nivel de AVOD y SVOD del servicio internacional de streaming que Univision anunció recientemente. También será su responsabilidad el desarrollo de películas originales, la selección de contenido y la programación del nivel SVOD. Rovegno, quien desempeñó diversas funciones en Netflix a cargo de la producción de películas originales, como también licencias y coproducción de películas y series de televisión en español, trabajará con Rodrigo Mazón, EVP y GM, SVOD Streaming.
