MIAMI – OCTOBER 19, 2020 – Univision News announces its special coverage for the Final U.S. Presidential Debate of the 2020 electoral season: “Destino 2020: El Debate Final” (Destiny 2020: The Final Debate) to air live on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 8:55 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET on Univision. “Destino 2020: Esperando El Debate Final” (Destino 2020 Presents: Waiting for the Final Debate), Univision’s special pre-debate programming to air from 8 p.m. to 8:55 p.m. ET
Univision News will air and livestream the debate with simultaneous Spanish-language translation. The special TV coverage will be moderated by Univision News Anchors Ilia Calderón and Jorge Ramos who will be joined by political experts, including:
- Luis Miranda Jr., Democratic political analyst, founding member of The MirRam Group and Board Chair of Latino Victory, a grassroots organization that supports Biden’s presidential candidacy.
- Jesús Márquez, Republican political analyst, radio personality and Latinos for Trump Advisory Board Co-Chairman.
Univision News Anchor Patricia Janiot will bring viewers the minute by minute fact-checking of the candidates statements, which will be verified in real-time by the Univision team that runs ‘elDetector,’ Univision’s data-checking platform. Viewers will also be able to interact directly with the FactCHAT bot through a WhatsApp chat and consult on the statements and data that matters most to them during the debate.
Univision News Principal Correspondent María Antonieta Collins’ visits a debate watch party in Downtown Miami. A group of undecided voters, among them Cuban, Venezuelan, and Puerto Rican’s who are representative of Florida residents will have a post-debate discussion.
Univision’s Senior Correspondent Pedro Rojas will be reporting from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where the debate will be taking place on Thursday. Rojas will also give viewers a look into the venue and explain how debate rules and preparations have changed after the last presidential debate.
Univision News Anchor Carolina Sarassa will moderate a conversation with Franklin Camargo and Adonias Arevalo from Gen Z. Generation Z is expected to be the most racially and ethnically diverse group of voters and will inherit both the successes and failures of the previous generations.
Univision News National Correspondent Luis Megid will visit a family that lost a loved one to the pandemic. They’ll share how they feel about President Trump saying that “he now gets it” and talk about the medical care they were able access in contrast to the President.
Univision News Correspondent Pedro Ultreras will interview a Georgia resident, who was an undocumented immigrant and now will vote for the first time in the U.S.

Univision también transmitirá programación especial previa al debate: “Destino 2020: Esperando El Debate Final” de 8 p.m. a 8:55 p.m. ET.
Univision Noticias transmitirá y difundirá por internet el último debate presidencial de EEUU con traducción simultánea al idioma español. La cobertura especial por televisión será moderada por los presentadores de Univision Noticias Ilia Calderón y Jorge Ramos, quienes serán acompañados por expertos en política, incluyendo:
