WEEKLY UPDATE ON “MIRA QUIEN BAILA ALL STARS,” UNIVISION’S POPULAR DANCE COMPETITION

WHAT’S NEW:
The show will open with a powerful performance honoring Selena, the Queen of Tex-Mex. The special number will feature Regional Mexican star El Dasa, Mexican-American singer Ally Brooke (former Fifth Harmony member) and “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” judge Bianca Marroquín as they commemorate the almost 25 years since the musical legend´s passing.
The theme of the night is Music Icons and contestants will perform dances inspired by their greatest hits. The judges left the fate of Brea Frank, Kiara Liz and Sofía Castro in the hands of the audience and, on Sunday, it will be revealed who and how many of them will leave the competition.
After the first round of performances, Ally Brooke will take the stage once again to perform a medley of her popular songs “No Good” (top 40 US radio charts) and her latest single “Low Key.”
ON LAST SUNDAY’S SHOW:
- “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” opened with a special mariachi/vallenato version of “Esta Vida” by Jorge Celedón and Alex Fernández. The performance was a true celebration of Latino culture as both genres and generations came together on stage.
- Contestants left their comfort zone and performed dances from around the world.
- Adrián Lastra, the first participant to take the stage, danced to the rhythm of reggaeton with Daddy Yankee’s “Rompe.”
- Kimberly Dos Ramos followed with a modern version of the classic salsa song “El Yerberito Moderno.”
- The two contestants at risk of leaving the competition, Fanny Lu and Brea Frank, had to dance the tropical styles of samba and merengue, respectively.
- In a very personal interview, Adriel Favela opened his heart and talked about his mother who sent him to Mexico to live with his grandparents when he was a young kid. After his very emotional performance, a tango, his mother and younger brother came up to the stage to surprise him.
- On a different note, Sofía Castro showed a very fun side of her by dancing a boogie.
- The last contestant to hit the dance floor was Kiara Liz who had to dance to Regional Mexican music.
- Fanny Lu left the competition after receiving the least number of votes from the audience.
- The Spanish singer David Bisbal performed a medley of his latest single “En Tus Planes” and his classic song “Bulería.” He was joined by UniMás personality Migbelis Castellanos, who danced during this special number.
- The popular Regional Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz performed his single “Más Caro Que Ayer.”
- The bottom three candidates of the night were Brea Frank, Kiara Liz and Sofía Castro. After these celebrities took the stage for a second time, the judges decided not to save any of them and let the audience decide their future.
“Mira Quién Baila All Stars” is hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado and Javier Poza, and Amara la Negra is the backstage reporter. Former Miss Universe and winner of MQB’s fifth season Dayanara Torres, creative director and professional dancer Casper Smart, and Mexican actress, professional dancer and singer Bianca Marroquín are this season’s judges. The beloved dancer and star choreographer Toni Costa is the show’s first ever contestant mentor.

El show empezará con una emocionante actuación en homenaje a Selena, la Reina del tex-mex.
