Fast and Furious: The Changing Face of America

From pre-ticket sales to April Box Office earnings, the long awaited Fast and Furious 7 broke records in its opening weekend. And one of the biggest factors of its success just might be its diverse approach to storytelling.

According to Universal Pictures, minorities were the majority – nearly two-thirds – of the Fast and Furious 6 audience. And Hispanics are leading the pack; they accounted for 37% of the opening weekend audience for the latest film. If they can’t connect and access, they’re not coming.” Read Entertainment Weekly’s recent report on the franchise and how diversity on the silver screen can represent huge winnings, stateside and abroad.
