MIAMI – JULY 12, 2018 – Univision News continues to break new ground on the digital front with the launch of its latest podcast series, “Azul Rosado” (Blue Pink). Building on its strategy of providing U.S. Hispanics with diverse, innovative content in all of today’s most popular formats and platforms, Univision presents a trailblazing Spanish-language podcast that explores the challenges faced by Hispanic members of the LGBTQ community in America.
The original podcast gives listeners a unique insight into what life is like for Latinx LGBTQ individuals in the U.S., and the role that cultural factors often play in their personal situations. Through stories told by the very individuals living them, “Azul Rosado” illustrates the complexities and nuances of the Hispanic LGBTQ experience, delving deep into pivotal issues like machismo, stereotypes, coming out, family reaction and relationships, religion, language barriers, activism, and much more.
From positive stories of self-discovery and emotional liberation to poignant accounts of pain and conflict, this exclusive podcast sheds light on the reality of being LGBTQ and Hispanic today.
The first episode of “Azul Rosado” is now available on Uforia On Demand, iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play. Episode two will debut on Monday, July 16th, with each of the remaining episodes of the first season premiering every subsequent Monday.
“Azul Rosado” was created and produced by its host, Ney Alvarez, a journalist and multimedia producer for Univision News Digital, and a passionate advocate for LGBTQ rights.
