Reality & Game Shows

The Reality genre has been a successful, family-friendly strategy for Univision. We’ve crowned queens who turn into media personalities and brand ambassadors, and last year, with La Banda, launched the career of the newest Latino boy band, CNCO; they’re now signed to Sony Music Latin with a hit single and a tour with Ricky Martin under their belt.

Next season, we’re launching new reality franchises tied to the number one music genre for Hispanics, Regional Mexican. These include Canción de Mujer (Song of a Woman), the search for the next female star in the vein of Selena, and La Gerencia (The Next Generation), following the lives of the genre’s up-and-coming stars.

We’re also bringing game shows to primetime on UniMás to respond to increasing interest from our audience. Scarborough shows that Hispanic consumption of TV game shows grew 43% vs. 36% for non-Hispanics from 2011-2015.
