We know that, on average, Hispanics have one more person in the household than non-Hispanics. More than half of those households include kids under 18 (51% vs. 29% non-Hispanic). This helps contribute to higher levels of co-viewing across our news, entertainment and sports. Hispanics consider “TV time” as essential moments for family bonding and interaction.
For example, 34% of La Banda’s 18-49 viewers watched the first season with 12 to 34 year olds, compared to 24% co-viewing between these groups for its closest reality show competitor, Season 10 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. The same can be said for Liga MX, the most watched soccer league in the country. UCI’s Mexican league 18-49 viewers were 37% more likely to watch with people 12-34 vs. viewers of the NBA on ABC.
