Paul Sellers is Vice President, Automotive, of the Business Development Group at Univision, the leading media company serving Hispanic America. The Business Development Group is a dedicated consulting team of veterans from media, marketing and agency backgrounds who help marketers develop and execute their strategies to drive sales with Hispanics. A cornerstone of their approach is helping companies evolve from treating Hispanic as a niche, to deploying a “total market strategy,” where Hispanic is integrated into all phases of the business planning process.
Mr. Sellers spent more than 25 years on both the retail and wholesale sides of the auto industry. He has held executive level Sales and Marketing positions at both American Honda Motor Company (for both the Honda and Acura Divisions) as well as at Hyundai Motor America.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sellers has been an industry pioneer in many ways. He was involved in the launch of the Acura Division, the first Japanese luxury brand here in the U.S., where he established Acura’s first Regional Marketing Programs. In the areas of Multicultural Marketing, he was part of a team responsible for establishing the first Hispanic Marketing departments at both Honda (1988) and Hyundai (1999). Since that time, both brands have enjoyed substantial success in the marketplace through the implementation of Spanish-language media.
Mr. Sellers was a two- time Advertising Age “Marketing 100” award winner as the head of National Advertising for Honda, and was awarded a Gold Effie while serving as the executive director of Marketing at Hyundai.
