DALLAS, TX – JANUARY 4, 2017
Univision Dallas announced that Nelly Carreño has joined its on-air weather team as meteorologist for the Dallas area. She will join Meteorologist Albert Martínez Bobé, appearing on Univision’s local newscasts to deliver the latest weather information, forecasts and breaking news to Dallas-area residents starting January 9.
“I am thrilled to welcome Nelly to Univision Dallas team and have no doubt that her strong experience in local weather coverage will be a great benefit to our viewers,” said Samuel Belilty, news director, Univision News Dallas.
With 15 years of broadcasting experience, Carreño joins Univision Dallas from NECN Boston, where she served the Boston area as the weekday afternoon meteorologist. She has spent time with WSNS Chicago as the meteorologist/entertainment anchor, as well as the weather anchor and travel reporter for AccuWeather. Viewers may recognize Carreño, who started her career in Texas with KTXS News and KVII-TV, before joining KXTX as weather anchor and entertainment reporter.

A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Carreño was raised in Dallas. She holds a degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and received her certificate in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Univision Dallas anunció que Nelly Carreño se ha incorporado a su equipo de pronóstico del tiempo como meteoróloga en el área de Dallas. Ella se sumará al meteorólogo Albert Martínez Bobé para presentar en los noticieros locales de Univision la más reciente información sobre el tiempo, pronósticos y noticias de último minuto a los residentes del área de Dallas a partir del 9 de enero.
“Estamos encantados de darle la bienvenida a Nelly al equipo de Univision Dallas y no tengo la menor duda de que su sólida experiencia en cobertura del tiempo a nivel local será muy beneficiosa para nuestros televidentes”, dijo Samuel Belilty, director de noticias de Noticias Univision en Dallas.
Carreño aporta a Univision Dallas 15 años de experiencia en difusión. Trabajó en NECN Boston, donde se desempeñó como meteoróloga del noticiero vespertino en esa localidad. Además, estuvo un tiempo en WSNS Chicago como meteoróloga y presentadora de noticias de entretenimiento, y como presentadora del tiempo y reportera de viajes de AccuWeather. Los televidentes pueden reconocer a Carreño, quien inició su carrera en Texas con el Noticiero de KTXS y KVII-TV, antes de incorporarse a KXTX como presentadora del tiempo y reportera de entretenimiento.

Carreño es de Ciudad de México, México y creció en Dallas. Tiene una licenciatura de la University of Texas at Austin y recibió un certificado de difusión meteorológica de Mississippi State University.
