Jessica Rodriguez is executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America.
In this role, Rodriguez oversees all of UCI’s marketing, art and design functions, including Univision Agency, which creates all promotional, creative and media inventory valued at more than $500 million across the UCI’s broadcast, cable, radio and digital properties. She also oversees Corporate Research, Strategy & Insights and Program Scheduling across UCI’s broadcasting and cable networks. Rodriguez has spearheaded some of the Company’s most high profile campaigns including UCI’s first-ever brand campaign, “Todo Es Posible” (Everything is Possible), a comprehensive, multi-platform initiative leveraging the core values of Hispanic America and the Univision brand. Rodriguez also launched “Proof of Passion,” UCI’s latest campaign serving to position Univision’s bold new content as the prime driver of consumer passion, as well as “Tu Gente Tu Voz,” a groundbreaking, reimagined local news branding campaign that highlights the connection between Univision’s local news teams and the communities they serve.
Rodriguez previously served as executive vice president of Program Scheduling and Promotions where she was responsible for strategically helping to maximize UCI’s programming decision-making process across all UCI networks and platforms. Previously, she served as senior vice president of Univision Cable Networks, and prior to that as vice president/special assistant to the president of Univision Networks. She began her career at UCI as an intern in Los Angeles and later moved to Puerto Rico, where she helped launch and lead the station to a leading position in the market. During her time there, she served in multiple roles including, vice president/station manager. Earlier in her career, Rodriguez served as analyst and then associate for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City; later, she served as analyst for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone.
Rodriguez has been recognized by Variety in its 2017 Marketing Impact Report, named one of People en Español’s 25 Most Powerful Women, and featured in Cablefax’s Most Influential Minorities in Cable and The Cablefax 100. Rodriguez has also been recognized as a Wonder Woman by Multichannel News, included in the 2014 Power Women list by MOVES Magazine, and appeared in Adweek’s list of vital leaders in Tech, Media and Marketing, “The Adweek 50” in 2016 and 2015. She is recipient of NAMIC’s 2015 Next Generation Leader Award and New York City’s YMCA Outstanding Leadership Award.
Rodriguez is a graduate of Stanford University School of Business and Fordham University where she earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance respectively. Rodriguez serves on the board of Ballet Hispánico.
