Univision Music Group Anuncia Promoción en su División de Mercadeo Nacional
Music industry veteran Lupe de la Cruz is promoted to Sr. VP of National Marketing
Woodland Hills, CA -- This week, Univision Music Group announced the promotion of Lupe De La Cruz to Sr. VP, National Marketing of its labels Fonovisa Records and Univision Records. De La Cruz will remain based at the group’s national headquarters in Woodland Hills, California and will continue to report to Jose Behar, President and CEO, Univision Music Group. In this capacity, De La Cruz will continue to oversee the marketing departments and initiatives for the group, and its diverse roster of artists in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. In addition to his marketing responsibilities, De La Cruz’s department also handles liaison activities with the Univision television networks, Univision Online, Univision Radio, media relations, external and industry communications as well as corporate sponsorship development for Univision Music Group artists. As Vice President of National Marketing, he was instrumental in the successful integration of the Fonovisa Records label, which was acquired in 2002. “Having Mr. De La Cruz as part of the Univision Music Group management team has been a key factor in the company’s thriving growth and continued success. De La Cruz began his music industry career in 1995 as marketing director for EMI Latin. In this role he oversaw the marketing of new releases and artist development projects that included artists such as Jennifer Peña, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Kumbia Kings, Los Originales de San Juan, Thalía, and El Coyote y Su Banda, as well as the Selena movie soundtrack. In 2001, Lupe left EMI Latin to join Univision Music Group, where he has overseen the marketing and development of many new and superstar acts including Pepe Aguilar, Graciela Beltran, Adan “Chalino” Sanchez, Pilar Montenegro, Area 305, Jennifer Peña, and AKWID. Prior to his music industry employment, De La Cruz was a marketing executive in the soft drink industry with a focus on emerging markets.
