Univision Records Appoints New West Coast Promotions Team
The New and Dynamic Promotions Team for West Coast to be Headed by Malu Elizondo
Woodland Hills, CA -- This week, Univision Records announced the appointment of its new west coast promotions team. Latin music industry veteran Malu Elizondo joins Univision Records as the new Director of West Coast Promotions with an impeccable and impressive track record in the fields of promotions, national marketing and public relations, which spans a successful 15-year career. Following a booming career as a public relations practitioner for Fonovisa Records and other Latin labels, and after having established her own Latin entertainment PR firm, Elizondo comes to Univision Records from Universal Music Latino, where she served in the capacity of VP of national marketing in the Regional Mexican Division. In her new position at Univision Records, Elizondo will oversee and manage all west coast promotional campaigns for pop and regional Mexican recording artists.
“I am very enthusiastic and happy to have this new team, which I’m certain will continue garnering smash hits for Univision Records’ artists,” stated Manolo Gonzalez, Senior VP Regional Mexican A&R and National Promotion.
As Director of Promotions, Elizondo will continue fostering solid relationships with radio groups in Los Angeles and the rest of the west coast territory for all the Latin formats that comprise the record label.
Joining Elizondo is Laffite Benitez, new Promotions Representative, who comes to Univision Records with 15 years of experience in Latin entertainment. Most recently, Benitez was West Coast Regional Director for Crescent Moon Records, where he had the opportunity of working in promotions and marketing activities for artists in the pop and regional Mexican genres.
Benitez also has an extensive professional background in radio promotions and has built his reputation on successful marketing strategies and promotional plans for international recording Latin artists. In his new capacity, Benitez will work with radio programmers in the west coast to continue promoting Univision Records’ exclusive roster of artists.
