Univision Records Launches a New Kind of Temptation: Mia
“Tentación,” The Debut Album of an Artist who Lives and Breathes Music
Woodland Hills, CA -- Univision Records recently released Mia’s debut album “Tentación” (Temptation), Latin pop’s newest sultry voice, which promises to captivate audiences all over with her classic elegance and powerful vocal ability.
As an exclusive Univision Records artist and in the most fundamental phase of her music career, Mía is "temptation" and promise, but emerges as the pleasant surprise of a generation of new talent that builds their future based on talent, hard work and charisma.
Mía was born in Havana, Cuba, which she left with her family at the tender age of four. It was at this point of her life that she began showcasing her talent in her new home in Miami. Subsequently, during brief periods she lived in Orlando and Tampa. Finally, the family opted to permanently move to Miami, her home and her inspiration.
Titled "Tentación", her debut album has the distinctive trademark of one of Latin music’s top brass, Rudy Perez, her producer and the creative craftsman of six of the ten tracks –nine are unpublished- included in this new album. Presenting soft pop ballads and up-tempo rhythms with a romantic flare and suggestive expression, she captivates and seduces effortlessly in a style all her own. Giving herself completely to this project, Mia reaffirms her conviction that "music is, has and always will be her way of living and dreaming.”
Symbolic of the multicultural environment she lives in, "Tentación", the album, has music that is 100% Latin; with pop, and rhythmic ballads fused with different styles, according to Mia, who considers both cultures she grew up with as very dynamic, well-defined and inevitable in her sound. Full of high energy, which is evidenced by the album’s impeccable arrangements, the prevalence of the Flamenco guitar in her first promotional cut titled "Convéncete" (Convince Yourself), is a sultry, almost danceable ballad penned by Mario Patiño.
Rudy Perez is the mastermind behind the romantic ballad "Ahora Te Dejo Yo" (This Time, I Leave You). In addition, Perez co-wrote "Es El Amor" (It’s Love), with Roberto Livi; the title track "Tentación" (Temptation), with Billy Mann; "Tonto Orgullo" (Foolish Pride) and "Presentimiento" (Premonition), with Mario Patiño; and "No Tienes Mi Perdón" (You Don’t Have My Forgiveness), with Jorge Luis Piloto.
Other notable tracks include "Te Tengo Que Aprender A Olvidar" (I Have To Learn To Forget You) by Juan Marcelo and Paula De Jesús; "Villa Miseria" (Misery Villa), by Jorge Luis Piloto; and "Acaríciame" (Caress Me), the only cover, by Juan Carlos Calderón. Romantic by nature, these tracks are an ideal fit for Mia’s suggestive, warm and sensual style, as she has lived intensely each and every one of the messages in her album’s lyrics. This is why she recorded them; for what they say and what they leave behind is true and meaningful. Completely aware that success comes at a price, as she presents her debut album with Univision Records, Mía begins her promo work with enthusiasm and optimism: "I am willing to work arduously and willing to fight for what I believe in. I will do whatever it takes to succeed," she concluded.
