Pepe Aguilar Releases “Con Orgullo por Herencia” (A Heritage of Pride): a Living Homage to his Legendary Parents

Regional Mexican Music Idol Releases Second Album With Univision Records and Pays Tribute to his Parents in the Most Emotional and Nostalgic Album of his Career

Woodland Hills, CA -- Always striving to give the best of himself to his audience, Regional Mexican music idol Pepe Aguilar presents “Con Orgullo Por Herencia” (A Heritage of Pride), a unique collector’s item that pays a well-deserved tribute to the artistic achievements of two Mexican Golden Cinema and Regional Mexican music icons, his parents Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre.  The album was released simultaneously this week in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S.

Considered by many to have one of the most stunning contemporary voices and descendant of one of the finest and distinguished musical pedigrees in Latin America, Pepe Aguilar presents what may very well be the most emotionally charged and transcending album of his career.  “Con Orgullo Por Herencia” (A Heritage of Pride) is a tribute to his parents’ artistic work and the nostalgia that is reminiscent of Mexico’s most glorious age in Regional Mexican music.

“Con Orgullo Por Herencia” is truly a collector’s item comprised of 12 classic ‘ranchero’ classics made popular in the past by his prominent parents not only in Mexico but also the rest of the world, and a reminder of why Pepe Aguilar continues to be one of the leading performers and advocates of Mexican music worldwide.

“Cruz de Olvido” (Oblivion Cross), penned by world renowned writer Juan Zaizar marks the beginning of what promises to be an auditory delight, is the first promotional single of this undeniably unique album.

While the majority of the tracks included on this album are Regional Mexican staples of yesteryear, Pepe Aguilar brings new life and a very personal touch, as they have taken a significance that goes beyond the mere effort of trying to keep yesterday’s classics in today’s consciousness.  In Pepe Aguilar’s case, it’s a way of paying a well-deserved living tribute to his legendary parents, who have been his greatest inspiration and one of the finest gifts this life has given to him.

“I consider myself more than fortunate with the amazing parents I have.  Their teachings, based on example; their respect for tradition and customs; their love for Mexico’s music and their commendable commitment to their audience and their trade, have always been my points of reference,” stated Pepe Aguilar.

“Con Orgullo Por Herencia” is 100% ‘ranchero’ and the opening track “Echame A Mi La Culpa” (Blame Me) penned by Jose Angel Espinoza “Ferrusquilla” is a good example of it, highlighting the lead role of the violins, the sensual saxophone and the trumpet, all undeniable trademarks of “mariachi” music.  Among some of the high points of the album are: “La Muerte De Un Gallero” (Death Of A Cockfighter) by Tomas Mendez, “La Tumba Abandonada” (The Abandoned Tomb) by Pepe Albarran, “Popurri de Caballos” (Horse Medley) by various writers, “Mi Destino Fue Quererte” (Loving You Was My Destiny) by Felipe Valdez Leal, “Paso Del Norte” (Road To The North) by Matias Rivera and Felipe Valdez Leal and “Corrido de Simon Blanco” (Simon Blanco’s Corrido) by Delfino Villegas.

Convinced that his development is an inescapable process, after joining Univision Records he comes to the comforting realization that he’s made the right choice and that he’s in the best place for his career.  “From here on I’m going to be able to do many things that I couldn’t do with other companies.  This infuses me with a new sense of hope, vigor and motivation,” states Pepe Aguilar when he talks about the importance of the people with whom he has begun to collaborate, emphasizing his internationalization “at a very professional level.”
