Univision 23 and Ford Sponsor "Todos a Leer", a Special Day of Reading in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
Miami, FL -- Reading is a fundamental part of education and an integral component of any child’s success at school. With this in mind, Univision 23 and Ford join forces to sponsor “Todos a Leer” (Let’s All Read), a special day of reading and literature, with News Personalities like Guillermo Benites, Alina Mayo-Azze, Eileen Cardet and Rafael Orizondo. “Todos a Leer” will take place on Thursday, October 31st at Emerson Elementary School in Miami, located at 8001 SW 36 Street at 9AM.
The event's theme will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and will create an awareness of authors from the Caribbean islands. The day will begin with a grand parade of Caribbean costumes worn by both teachers and students, and will also feature special Caribbean author book readings by community leaders in the classrooms, essay and poetry writing contests, plays and much more. Each classroom in the school’s bilingual program will also be representing different Caribbean countries including Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Panama.
