Station to set up phone bank for donations during their morning news program “Al Amanecer”
Miami, FL -- Univision 23 rings in the holiday season by spreading holiday cheer to South Florida’s less fortunate children. This year, the station teams up with Amigos Together for Kids to collect new toys for abused, abandoned & less fortunate children in the community. Amigos Together for Kids will Kick-off their annual Holiday Toy Drive on Sunday, December 15th and Univision 23 will set up a phone bank on the week of December 9th to help in the collection of donations. The phone bank will run weekdays from 6:00 – 7:00 a.m. during Univision’s morning newscast “Al Amanecer”. The station will be broadcasting the telephone number to call to make toy donations and pledges throughout the newscast. Each year, Amigos Together for Kids collects hundreds of thousands of dollars in toys and gifts to benefit South Florida’s disadvantaged children. Each child is granted 3 holiday wishes thanks to the generosity of Amigos donors. This is what makes the Amigos Together for Kids Toy drive is so special. New toys will be delivered by “caravan” to different areas of South Florida foster homes and community outreach centers.
