Miami, FL -- Univision presents María Celina, a new novela produced by Fonovideo using the most advanced digital technology and filmed in Miami, Florida. María Celina will make its debut Monday, July 8, 2002 at 12:00 P.M. / 11:00 A.M. Central.
The Cast
María Celina brings together a totally international cast as only the wonderful city of miami can. Linda Lucía Callejas, the Colombian actress and singer, stars along side Antonio Muñiz, son of the popular Mexican singer Marco Antonio Muñiz. The production also boasts the special guest appearances of Zully Montero, Oswaldo Calvo, Griselda Noguera, Juan Troya, Juan David Díaz, Lino Ferrer, and Norma Zúñiga.
Synopsis
The novella tells the story of a great love that took place thirty-five years ago. After struggling with and overcoming the obstacles that stood in the way of their happiness, a couple finally finds the way to be together. However, a fatal accident in an airplane that shuld have taken them to a new life puts an end to their dreams.
Today, thirty-five years later, they reincarnate as María Celina (Linda Lucía Callejas) and Luis Alejandro (Antonio Muñiz), respectively.
In this new life, María Celina is a singer in love with her music, left standing at the altar by her fiancé as an act of revenge.
Luis Alejandro appears in the story for the first time during Maria Celina’s wedding shower. He has arrived in the United States searching for success as a singer. Upon meeting him, María Celina immediately identifies him as the man with her in her recurrent and unexplainable nightmares where both die in an airplane crash. Now, drawn to each other by a history together in a past life, they begin a new and profound love.
María Celina’s mother, Isaura (Zully Montero), is a woman embittered by ill treatment from her husband. During the course of the story, she will demonstrate that a woman can still find happiness and start over, even with a man 20 years her junior.
The fame, success, and recognition that Luis Alejandro strives to achieve will be placed jeopardy, as well as his love for María Celina, in a duel with his rival Juan David Montero (Juan David Díaz).
