Telefutura Makes History by Broadcasting COFECA’s 21st Central American Parade
Los Angeles, CA -- What: The 21st Central American Parade organized by COFECA (Central American Festivities Committee) will be aired for the first time since 1983 by Telefutura 46, Univision’s sister station.
The distinguished KMEX Reporter, Norma Roque, will be the Grand Marshal for this year’s “Preservando Nuestra Cultura” (Preserving our Culture) themed parade. Joining the festivities as hosts during the parade will be:
Marissa del Portillo, “Escandalo TV” Co-Host, Francisco Pinto, KMEX Sports Anchor, and Carlos Alvarez, KLVE’s charismatic radio personality.
The Central American Parade, a celebration of the region’s independence from Spain in 1821, has been a community tradition since 1983 in Pico Union, the heart of Central American culture in Los Angeles. Over 200,000 are expected to attend and enjoy Central American food, folkloric dances, and entertainment.
