Univision.Com Launches “Tu Bebé” – A Comprehensive Spanish-Language Baby Resource
Los Angeles, CA -- Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN), the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States, announced today that Univision Online has launched “Tu Bebé” (“Your Baby”), the premier Spanish-language destination for Hispanic parents. Tu Bebé was developed to provide millions of Hispanic parents with information on pregnancy and raising newborns and toddlers. Such information is absolutely essential to the Hispanic population, since 50% of Hispanic women are of childbearing age, and Hispanic birth rates are double that of non-Hispanics.
“As the Hispanic population continues to grow and birthrates rise, Univision has an important role to play in meeting the dramatic need felt by Hispanic parents for current and trustworthy information,” said Javier Saralegui, President of Univision Online. “Tu Bebé is another example of Univision.com combining its position as the most visited Spanish-language website with the popularity of Univision television to bring a valuable and essential resource to millions of Hispanics.”
To fulfill its mission of providing information to Hispanic parents, Tu Bebé will offer critical tools, including animated guides covering nutrition, motor skill and emotional development, and socialization; immunization calendars; chats with medical experts; and online communities designed to provide forums for parents. Tu Bebé will also provide information on adoption alternatives and offer inspirational profiles of celebrity parents. Tu Bebé will be promoted through a robust cross platform media campaign across all Univision on-air and online properties.
