Univision Communications to Deliver Comprehensive Multiplatform Midterm Election Coverage on November 2nd, 2010
Univisionís Television, Online and Mobile News Site and Radio to Keep Audiences Updated on Election Day Developments, Including Control of Congress and Potential Hispanic Gains in Key Races
Miami, FL — Univision Communications Inc. today unveiled its multiplatform plans to keep audiences informed on all the developments as they unfold on Election Day. Throughout the day on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, Univision Network, Univision Interactive Mediaís online and mobile news site available at www.UnivisionNoticias.com, and Univision Radio will provide extensive Election Day coverage. A completely interactive experience, Univision will incorporate viewer comments and questions into its broadcasts. Additionally, touch screen technology will be utilized on air to enhance coverage throughout the night.

Dubbed ìDestino 2010,î Univisionís Election Day coverage will be led by Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas, co-anchors of the Networkís national evening news program ìNoticiero Univision.î Edna Schmidt and Enrique TeutelÛ, co-anchors of ìNoticiero Univision Ultima Horaî (Univision Networkís Late News), as well as the full network news team will report live from key races around the country, with analysis provided by Democrat Maria Cardona and Republican Adolfo Franco, along with renowned expert on Hispanic issues, Arnoldo Torres, and political analyst Helen Aguirre Ferre.
The Networkís Election Day coverage will begin with news updates during morning show ìDespierta Americaî (Wake-Up America), and then pick up with special ìBoletines Electoralesî (Election Bulletins) at the top and bottom of every hour, starting at 1 p.m. ET/PT and running into primetime. These bulletins will look at issues such as voter turnout, the mood of the nation, and last minute campaigning. In primetime, elections briefs will focus on projections, results and reactions from candidate headquarters.
The 6:30 p.m. edition of ìNoticiero Univisionî will focus on covering the elections from all angles. Additionally, a special primetime election program ìNoche de Eleccionesî (Election Night) will be broadcast live at 10 p.m. ET, with Ramos and Salinas looking at updated projections, analysis and results, with the daily, 11:30 p.m. news program ìUltima Horaî featuring results and examining the new U.S. political landscape.
