Her Majesty, the Diva, Ivy Queen, is back with Sentimiento, her latest album. This extraordinary release contains 12 unedited songs, filled with thoughts that reflect the feelings of a passionate heart. The first cut, ìQue Lloren,î was written by Ivy Queen herself.
Ivy, also known as “La caballota,î has imposed her unique style on an entire genre, which is why she came to be considered as the indisputable female exponent of Latin rap and reggaeton.
“There is only one significant female reggaeton rapper, Ivy Queenî ñ New York Times
The creator of songs like ìCuÈntale,î ìTe he querido, te he llorado,î and many more, is about to surprise us again with Sentimiento, which is scheduled for release very soon. This album was produced by an entire array of famous Puerto Rican music producers: Luny Tunes, Escobar, Soza, Monserrate, DJ Urba, Isidro Infante, and Noriega.
ìIn Sentimiento we find that love is what keeps us alive, whether it’s a breakup or reconciliation,” says Ivy Queen. “Each guest artist is there to tell the listeners that we have all loved at least once in our lives. The idea of creating such a profound album is based on the fact that my parents raised me for ‘corta venas,í (to love passionately). And I wanted my generation to have songs that express what they are going through when they are in love.”
To date, Ivy Queen has sold millions of records, which certainly makes her the queen when it comes to records sold within her genre.
ìFor Univision Music Group, it’s a privilege to have Ivy Queen be a part of our artistic talent,” says Jose Behar, President of Univision Music Group. “Ivy is a woman with incomparable talent, and she’s number one in her genre. We’re happy to be able to work with her on her new album and future projects as well.”
