Miami, FL — Univison’s Noticias 23 announced today that it has launched RadaVision, a new technologically advanced weather system that is revolutionizing television’s approach to weather forecasting and reporting. The new, real-time weather technology from Weather Central allows meteorologists to turn scientific weather information into compelling weather stories— in real-time.

In a market like South Florida, where weather is often the lead story, RadarVision provides an effortless way to bring together all the necessary elements to tell the story.

RadaVision’s advanced meteorological analysis tools include the MetLineTM meteorological workstation, with unmatched analysis and display capabilities. MetLine is seamlessly integrated into the newscast providing the meteorologist with a gateway to reliable data products from Weather Central.  Weather Central connects the forecaster with the largest and widest arsenal of quality controlled weather data products available, including such instruments as composite radar, single-site radar, satellite, DIFAX charts, model data, and lightning data.

The system brings weather forecasts to life with incredibly realistic weather graphics and animations. It automatically blends the skyline with the appropriate weather conditions to create  full-motion weather animations, allowing viewers to see tomorrow’s forecast. In addition to precipitation and sky conditions, RadarVision creates a future time-lapsed animation by merging the appropriate time-of-day lighting and weather conditions on your local scene. These true-to-life forecast animations can also include full-motion bodies of water. “RadarVision is the newest innovation in forecast visualization,” states Helga Silva, News Director, Noticias 23 WLTV-Miami. “We are thrilled to be the only local newscast to be able to bring this cutting-edge technology to our viewers.”
